spoon LADIES...

Introducing my latest line of spoons.... LADIES, y'all! I'm really excited to share these with you.

Have you ever felt bored with your work? Okay, maybe bored isn't the right word. Have you ever felt like you were ready to switch things up, ready to reach a new level of potential, experiment with new designs/words/formats?? I'm always trying to let my daily inspirations leak into my work for my own selfish reasons. It's what makes being a MAKER interesting, soul fulfilling, and FUN. It's so easy to settle in to what sells the best... but man oh man, once you open up the possibilities, you will ignite the fire that started the whole damn thang to begin with! If you don't know what I'm talking about, please just hear me out. Because this doesn't just go for Makers. This goes for everyone, working in any field, with any hobby and passion. Experiment, damnit! Step outside of the box. Don't be such a square! You might have some tweaking to do at first, but once you nail it, you'll prove to yourself that there actually is no ceiling holding you down.

If you follow me on instagram (@SweetThymeDsgn), this may sound familiar.  My Spoon Lady Line is inspired by my favorite kind of stories- ya know, the ones where women save themselves, and encourage females to stand with other females in support, not in competition. Stories where being Pro- Women doesn’t mean being Anti-Men, but rather recognizing each other’s strength and redefining the word “beautiful” by empowering one another, in likeness and difference. Stories where women are so fucking fierce that everyone else wishes they were born a woman too. Ya know, those kind of stories...

I am inspired by strong, independent women every day. However, I think it is important to point out that being strong and independent doesn't have one look. You don't need to be at every protest and rally, have a loud outspoken voice, armpit hair and not give a fuck to be a strong woman. You can give lots of fucks and still be a badass. In my opinion, the only guideline for being a strong independent woman is to live YOUR best life, while supporting the sisters (and brothers - but sisters especially) around you. Supporting one another is a big one, girls... in similarities and differences.

So, I created this line of spoons with all of you ladies in mind. We are all unique, we all offer different gifts to this crazy world and those we love, and yet we all share one amazing, earth shaking, powerful thing; our sisterhood. In the words of Maya Angelou, “It’s in the reach of my arms, the span of my hips, the stride of my step, the curl of my lips. I’m a woman phenomenally.”.
